About this place

Korea Furniture Museum, a private museum on a hillside in Seongbuk-dong, displays 2,500 pieces of Joseon Dynasty furniture in 10 restored hanok houses. Collector Chyung Mi-sook, who founded it, gathered the pieces over five decades, and they are shown as in a lived-in home, not behind glass. CNN named it Seoul's most beautiful museum in 2011; it hosted the 2010 G20 Summit spouses' luncheon and guests such as Xi Jinping and Brad Pitt. Visits are by reservation only, on guided tours of up to 20 people.
