About this place

Han Sang-soo Embroidery Museum in Seongbuk-dong was founded by Master Han Sang-soo (1932-2016), who was designated National Intangible Cultural Property number 80 and revived Korean embroidery techniques lost under Japanese occupation. Its collection spans 1,400 years since the Three Kingdoms period, including court rank badges with dragons, phoenixes and cranes, Buddhist embroidery and folk textiles. Admission is free, with guided tours. Certified instructors run workshops (20,000-50,000 won) where visitors make handkerchiefs or tea coasters, and Hansung University Station (Line 4, Exit 6) is 700 meters away.
