World Cup Park

World Cup Park in Mapo-gu turned a garbage landfill into five connected ecological parks, where fields of silver grass and pink muhly host the Silver Grass Festival every October. On top, at 98 meters, Haneul (Sky) Park has 360-degree views of the Seoul skyline and the Han River. It is reached by 291 wooden stairs or a 1,000-won shuttle and has wind turbines, butterfly habitats, sunset decks and metasequoia-lined paths. Pyeonghwa Park has ponds and woods, and the Oil Tank Culture Park is nearby.
