Hongdae Street

Hongdae Street is the area around Hongik University in Mapo-gu, where indie musicians play on the street and murals cover the walls. Street food stalls sell tteokbokki and churros. Shops sell low-priced fashion and vintage clothes, some themed bars serve drinks in zip-lock bags, and there are live music venues, karaoke rooms, rooftop bars and underground hip-hop clubs. Dance battles break out at Hongdae Playground.
