SightsMugyo-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul

About this place

Seoul Plaza is an oval lawn in front of Seoul City Hall where large crowds have gathered for Korea's democracy movements, World Cup celebrations and Psy's Gangnam Style performance. In winter it becomes an ice rink that costs 1,000 won, festivals run through the year, and in summer office workers and tourists sit on the grass with their shoes off. A floor fountain sprays water from holes in the ground. The plaza is free and connected to the vertical garden inside City Hall, with palaces and museums around it.
