About this place

Piyangkong Halmani, near Seolleung Station, has served soybean dishes for 30 years. A grandmother from Pyongyang grinds the beans daily on stone mills for thick biji-jjigae (soybean stew), made plain or with kimchi, radish or mushroom. Handmade Pyongyang-style dumplings are on the menu too, and the seasonal banchan come with individual tongs. The food is MSG-free and prices are around 8,000 to 12,000 won; locals and office workers line up, and it has received the Michelin Bib Gourmand in consecutive years.
