About this place

Cheogajip is a 50-year-old restaurant in an alley near Yaksu Station, with no sign outside. It makes North Korean-style baeksuk (whole chicken soup): native Korean chicken steamed with chives and no seasoning, served in a clear broth with a spicy vinegar-mustard sauce. The name means 'house of in-laws'. Seating is on the floor, more than 19 homemade side dishes come with the meal, and the cooking follows pre-war Pyeongando style.
