Hyobong Pocha

Hyobong Pocha is a pocha (drinking spot) in Hongdae, about a 5-minute walk from Sangsu Station Exit 2. The dim room has graffiti on the walls and stacked liquor crates, and the anju (drinking food) is hearty and strongly seasoned. Regulars start with suji-tang, beef tendon in a rich beef bone broth, and add sujebi (hand-torn dough flakes); other dishes include devil chicken, blue crab soup, tuna roe soup, pineapple guobaorou (crispy sweet and sour pork) and steamed fish. It is often busy, so a short wait is possible at peak times.
