About this place

Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum in Gangseo-gu is devoted to the 18th-century painter Jeong Seon (1676-1759), who painted real Korean scenery in the "true-view" style rather than idealized Chinese-style landscapes. Its 4 levels hold ink paintings of Mount Geumgang (Diamond Mountains), the Han River and the Eight Scenic Views of Yangcheon, made while he governed this area. It is near Yangcheonhyanggyo Station (Line 9), and adults pay ₩1,000. Digital art installations are often shown, and on nearby Gungsan hill visitors can stand where he painted over 250 years ago.
