About this place
Sayukshin Tombs is a memorial park on Noryangjin Hill for six ministers who died in 1456 trying to restore the young King Danjong after his uncle King Sejo seized the throne. Most were scholars from King Sejong's Hall of Worthies. Their plot to kill Sejo was betrayed, and they were tortured and executed with 70 family members, a 15th-century Joseon story retold in many Korean dramas. The tombs are a Seoul Tangible Cultural Property, and an observation deck looks over the Han River and the 63 Building.
