About this place

Mongchontoseong, a Historic Site inside Olympic Park, is a 1,700-year-old earthen fortification that once guarded the capital of the Baekje kingdom. It was built in the 3rd-4th century with moats and wooden palisades, and its grass-covered ramparts now look like natural hills. A 2.7km trail circles the walls past lakeside views and sculptures, and a museum on the site displays excavated artifacts. Admission is free.
