Gwanggwang Susan Hoetjip

Gwanggwang Susan Hoetjip is a raw fish restaurant in a market alley in Yongho-dong, near Yongho Alley Market, known for winter amberjack (daebangeo), in season December-February. The owner buys wild-caught fish such as striped beakfish (isigari) and flounder at daily auctions and East Sea markets, and each piece is labeled by species and cut. The course includes fresh oysters, garlic-studded fried flatfish, grilled amberjack collar and a clam and bean sprout soup that guests reorder with soju. Reservations are needed in amberjack season, and street parking is limited, with paid lots nearby.
