About this place
Samseongsan Mountain rises 481 meters across Gwanak-gu, Geumcheon-gu and the city of Anyang, and connects to the Gwanaksan Mountain range. A popular route starts at the entrance of the 600-year-old Hoapsa Temple, reached by bus 152 from Sillim Station, and climbs wooden stairs past communication towers and viewing platforms. Rougher paths with ropes pass Sammaksa Temple and its Maae Samjon Buddha, carved into the rock. The Catholic Samseongsan Holy Ground holds the graves of three French missionaries, and the trails look out on Seoul's skyline, Namsan Tower and the Han River.
