About this place

Hoamsan, known as Tiger Mountain, is a 325-meter peak in Geumcheon-gu with views of the Seoul skyline. Legend says King Taejo built Hoapsa Temple there to suppress a tiger spirit that kept Seoul from becoming the Joseon capital. Wooden stairs and forest trails pass the Hoamsan Mountain Fortress from the Unified Silla Period and Hanumul Well, where rain ceremonies were held. Along the History and Culture Trail are Lovers' Rock, Tiger Rock, a man-made waterfall and a shared forest with meditation shelters, and Geumcheon-gu Office is a 50-minute walk away.
