About this place

Omok Park in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, opened in 1989. Its redesign as an 'Urban Public Lounge' won a Presidential Award in 2024, adding a square corridor 3.7 meters high with a walkway on top that looks over the city. Below are the Omok Art Gallery, a Seoul-style Kids Cafe and shelters for books, plants and art, plus basketball courts, exercise equipment and movable picnic furniture. The planted areas also collect rainwater, and the park hosts outdoor performances, farmers markets and cultural events.
