Mullae Art Village

Mullae Art Village is an ironworks district in Yeongdeungpo-gu, a 5-minute walk from Mullae Station, where art galleries sit next to metal workshops. It was once home to more than 1,000 steel factories in the 1970s-80s; artists later moved into empty workshops, and today over 300 creatives work in 100+ studios beside the remaining metalworkers. Factory shutters carry murals, and cafes and bars occupy old industrial spaces. Welding sparks fly next to art installations, and there are rooftop gardens, metal sculptures and underground galleries.
