About this place
Manguri Park is an 83-hectare former cemetery on the slopes of Mount Manguri, opened in 1933 under Japanese colonial rule and closed to new burials in 1973. Independence activists, artists and writers lie here, including Han Yong-un, Lee Jung-seob and Bang Jeong-hwan. The park has 5.2km of walking trails, memorial monuments and the Jungnang Mangu Space cultural complex, and guided humanities tours cover the 27 notable figures buried here. Its trails link to hiking routes on Yongmasan and Achasan, and cherry trees bloom among the memorial stones in spring.
