Jeonwon Sutbul Barbecue

Jeonwon Sutbul Barbecue is the Gildong main branch of a charcoal-grilled chicken shop, about a one-minute walk from Gildong Station Exit 1 in Gangdong-gu. The shop says it has been running for 40 years, since the days of Gildong Central Market. The barbecue chicken comes salted, seasoned or half and half: the salted one is mild and smoky, the seasoned one spicy rather than sweet. Side dishes include spicy whelk salad and dried pollock and squid.
