Yeolchajip

Yeolchajip is a bindaetteok (mung bean pancake) tavern in Jongno-gu, in business since 1954. The pancakes are fried in pork fat until golden and crisp, and they come with free oyster jeotgal (fermented seafood) and many kinds of makgeolli rice wine. The name means Train House, after the narrow, railroad-car shape of the place squeezed between buildings. For 70 years it has fed politicians, artists and workers.
