Namdaemun Maknae Raw Fish

The Gwanggyo branch of Namdaemun Maknae Raw Fish is a sashimi restaurant near Jonggak Station, reached by steep stairs from a narrow alley behind Bosingak Bell. It carries on 40 years of Seoul market tradition. The specialties are thick-cut aged flounder (gwangeo) and rockfish (ureok), with fish from Wando waters, free side dishes such as braised mackerel, stewed potatoes and stir-fried squid, and a spicy fish stew at the end. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and office workers keep the place full.
