Solsot Hannam

Solsot Hannam is a branch of a sot-bap (pot rice) chain, in a basement in Hannam-dong near Blue Square and Itaewon. Rice is cooked in heavy iron pots with steak, sea bream, abalone, salmon, galchi (cutlassfish) or wagyu, leaving a crust of nurungji (scorched rice) at the bottom. Set meals come with banchan, soup, seaweed wraps and a yogurt drink, and braised short ribs are also on the menu. Hot broth then turns the leftover crust into nurungji soup.
