Pohang Makhwejip

Pohang Makhwejip is an old-school seafood restaurant in Jamwon-dong, about 240 m from Sinsa Station Exit 5, known for Pohang-style makhoe and gwamegi. The sign says 포항막회집, but Naver Map lists it as 포항집. Makhoe is freshly cut raw fish served with plenty of fresh vegetables, and the fish changes with the season; gwamegi, semi-dried Pacific saury, is the winter favorite. Meals such as grilled mackerel, pollock stew and kimchi stew come with homemade side dishes, and since local regulars and office workers keep it busy, booking by phone (02-3445-9982) is advised.
