Jagalchi Gomjangeo

Jagalchi Gomjangeo is a family-run hagfish restaurant in Jwadong Traditional Market in Haeundae, built on over 30 years of grilling at Jagalchi Market. Live hagfish from the tanks are grilled over charcoal in three styles: spicy yangnyeom-gui, salt-grilled sogeum-gui, and jjipbul-gui, charred whole in burning rice straw and then peeled. Banchan include perilla leaves and homemade seaweed soup, and the leftover spicy sauce is stir-fried with rice at the end. Portions cost 30,000 to 50,000 won.
