High House Jongga Live Hagfish

High House Jongga Live Hagfish is an old-school grill house in the Haengdang Market alleys near Wangsimni. Its hagfish (komjangeo), often mistaken for eel, is always live and domestic, never frozen imports. Each one is cleaned on the spot, grilled over charcoal and served part by part, skin and innards first, then meat; besides the grill there is an omakase-style course, boiled suyuk-style hagfish, hagfish soup and dumplings. The restaurant says it has run for about 26 years, has been on several TV programs and has repeatedly made the Blue Ribbon Survey.
