Mealdo Seongsu

Mealdo Seongsu is the original shop of the Mealdo bakery, near Seoul Forest, and people have queued for its white bread for more than 7 years. Tokyo-trained pastry chef Jeon Ik-beom adjusts for temperature and humidity daily. The milk breads are the light, chewy Dambaek (plain), made with fat-free milk and organic flour, and the Rich, a richer loaf made with fresh cream; both are baked daily and sell out fast. Customers queue outside the tiny shop and enter one by one, and Mealdo now has more than 8 branches in Seoul.
