Gogaet Maru

Gogaet Maru is a dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken) restaurant in a converted traditional Korean house in Yeoksam, 5 minutes from Yeoksam Station. Guests sit on the floor in heated rooms, and there is a vintage fireplace. The chicken cooks in a sweet-savory soy-based sauce that deepens as it simmers at the table, and the leftover sauce becomes crispy rice at the end. Office workers line up before it opens.
