Gaisen

Gaisen is a Japanese izakaya on a quiet street in Banpo, serving sashimi and nama-sake (unpasteurized sake). The plain room is run by a chef-owner who works alone, by reservation only. The omakase courses follow the seasonal fish, with dishes such as aged mackerel (shimesaba), yellowtail, aji no namero (minced horse mackerel) and grilled fish heads simmered in sweet soy sauce. Payment is required in advance, and soju is not served.
