Korean salary calculator: estimate take-home pay
Understand gross salary, deductions and estimated take-home pay in Korea, then compare your estimate with your payslip.
Start with gross pay
Gross pay is the amount before deductions. Choose the monthly calculator for a monthly offer or the annual calculator for an annual offer. Check whether the annual offer includes severance pay before comparing results.
Check the assumptions
Use the payment month, monthly tax-free pay, tax-family count, eligible children and withholding option that match your situation. The calculators also distinguish workers aged 60 or over. Check the calculator's supported period before using an estimate for another year.
Read the deductions
The estimate separates National Pension, health insurance, long-term care insurance, employment insurance, income tax and local income tax. Take-home pay is gross pay minus the total employee deductions, not the employer's total employment cost.
Compare with the actual payslip
Actual deductions can differ because insurance assessment bases and timing vary. Withheld income tax can be recalculated during year-end settlement. These estimates are not tax or labor advice; confirm differences with your payroll contact.
